Why NBA League Pass 'Hide Scores' still shows spoilers
The NBA's Hide Scores setting covers the number on the game card. Fans keep finding the result elsewhere: the series lead, headlines, images. Why it happens, and how to watch NBA games and highlights without it.

NBA League Pass and the NBA app have a Hide Scores setting. Fans who watch games later turn it on and trust it. For years, some of them have found the result anyway.
In May 2026, Magnus Carlsen said it in public: "when people have 'no spoilers' on in the app, they expect no spoilers." The problem he described is older than his remark.
The series lead was still on screen
In April 2023, during the playoffs, PiunikaWeb collected complaints from League Pass users. One fan wrote that the Hide Scores button on Sony TVs was "basically useless" because "it hides the scores but shows who leads the series." In the playoffs, the series lead tells you who won the last game. League Pass support said on Twitter that it was looking into the problem, with no date for a fix.
The NBA's own help page warns you
The NBA's support article for Hide Scores tells you how to turn the setting on. It also says that some headlines and images on the home page can reveal how a game ended, and it recommends a bookmark to NBA.com/games for a desktop page with fewer spoilers. In other words, the setting covers the score, but not every place the score can show.
Fans built their own fixes
Some fans wrote browser add-ons to fill the gap. One Firefox add-on, NBA League Pass Spoiler Blocker, says that League Pass updates made it "near impossible to watch a game without first seeing spoilers." It turns on Hide Scores for you, and it removes the news story that shows the outcome when you click Watch Game. An add-on like this works on one site, in one browser, until the site changes again. Read what Magnus Carlsen said to the NBA app.
What HideScore does
HideScore shows spoiler-free sports highlights. Free, no account, no ads, no gambling. It starts from the other side: the board never has the score, the winner or the series lead on it. You pick an NBA game, and the highlights open with the title covered. HideScore does not stream games, so it pairs with League Pass instead of replacing it: check the board, then go watch.
Open HideScore. No score is printed on the board.

Frequently asked questions
Why does NBA League Pass show spoilers with Hide Scores on?
The setting hides the score on game cards. Other parts of the app, such as the series lead, headlines, story images and alerts, are separate, and fans have found the result in them. The NBA's own help page says some home-page headlines or images can reveal outcomes.
What does the NBA recommend?
The NBA's help page for Hide Scores recommends that desktop users bookmark NBA.com/games, for a page with fewer spoilers than the home page.
How can I find NBA highlights without the score?
Start from a list that prints no score. HideScore lists every NBA game with no score, no winner and no series lead, and opens the highlights with the title covered.
